The Volusia County Water Atlas Is No Longer Available

Why is this atlas no longer available?

Volusia County was unable to continue funding the maintenance of the website.

The Water Atlas provides a cost efficient method to support environmental management efforts by local government staff and is a proven mechanism for environmental education and communication. It is maintained by the Water Institute at the University of South Florida.

The Water Institute is not funded for this effort by any state agency and relies on maintenance agreements with local governments for funding. Although the Water Institute is actively seeking alternative funding, the decision by Volusia County not to fund the atlas requires that the University make this website inactive until funding is secured.

Once a funding source is found, the Volusia County Water Atlas website will be brought back online.
